Sheikh Zayed Masjid
In memory of the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and architecturally inspired by the Grand Masjid of Sheikh Zayed in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Masjid is a beautiful, ornate mosque resting on the northern edge of Marsa Zayed. As the first major milestone on the ground at the Marsa Zayed project, the Sheikh Zayed Masjid was inaugurated in October 2014.
Spread across an area of 3,890 square metres, the three-storey mosque can accommodate 2,000 worshippers, with space for another 1,000 worshippers in the outside courtyard. The Sheikh Zayed Masjid also boasts an outdoor area surrounded by intricate gardens and decorated with water basins, reflecting the image and identity of many iconic Islamic mosques, providing areas for reflection and thought for the faithful.
